The International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (IACFS/ME) is excited to invite you to our first virtual research conference to be held on August 21, 2020! This half-day, Zoom-based meeting will consist of moderated one-hour sessions followed by a question- and-answer discussion (via Chat), similar to our in-person conferences. We anticipate the meeting will run from approximately 10 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT, New York City) to 3:30 PM EDT.  We hope you can join us and our partners for the conference!

Our conference will focus on all biomedical, public health, and behavioral aspects of ME/CFS and associated comorbidities.  Invited speakers are drawn from a selection of accepted oral presentations to our June conference that was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. A portion of the meeting will also be devoted to COVID-19 and its relevance to ME/CFS research and clinical care.  We plan to record the meeting so people unable to attend live may watch it afterwards. 
Attendees at IACFS/ME conferences are primarily biomedical and behavioral professionals, including clinicians, researchers and educators. People affected by ME/CFS and their supporters are also welcomed to attend.

IACFS/ME Members: To receive the discounted price, the registration form will prompt you to log into the website. The registration form will auto-complete parts of the form for you (please check your information is correct) and show you the member prices.

Non-members: You will be prompted to create an e-mail account with us during registration. To qualify for our discounted registration fee, consider joining our organization! Read about membership options here. You will be given the option to join during the registration process.  Not only will you be supporting IACFS/ME's mission to provide and advocate for science-backed research, medical care, and healthcare policies, you will also receive a subscription to our quarterly journal, Fatigue: Biomedicine, Health, and Behavior! 

Guests: If you wish to register and pay for someone else at the same time you are registering, you can select "Register Guest" on the registration form. However, if your guest is an IACFS/ME Member, please have them log in and self-register to qualify for the discounted member fee. 

Continuing Medical Education
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of The School of Medicine, State University of New York at Stony Brook and the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis(IACFS/ME).

Disclosure Policy
All those in control of CME content are expected to disclose any relevant financial relationship with a commercial interest (defined as any entity producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients) that relates to the content that will be discussed in the educational presentation. All commercial relationships that create a conflict with the planners, speakers, authors' control of content must be resolved before the educational activity occurs

Cancellations/ refunds
If you are unable to attend the meeting, please notify us by 2 weeks before the meeting (i.e. August 7) through the Contact Us form. We will refund 50% of your registration fee. Alternatively, you can gift your registration to someone else but notify us of their first/ last name and e-mail so we can send them the meeting link. After August 7, no refunds will be issued except for emergencies accompanied by proof (e.g. doctor's note). 

Unfamiliar with Zoom Webinars?
Don't worry! Zoom is easy to use. Here is a web page and a video to preview how to join and participate. We will also hold and record a short Zoom practice session before the conference for potential and registered attendees to familiarize everyone with Zoom controls. During the conference, you can ask for/ receive technical help and direct questions to the moderator/ presenters during the Question and Answer periods (just like our in-person meetings). You will need a desktop/ laptop/ tablet/ or mobile phone, an Internet/ cellular connection strong enough to stream videos (e.g. Youtube), and a headset or speakers to hear presenters. You do not need to pay for Zoom software as we will make arrangements.
